Location:
Reynolds flat following the trail to Dutches Draw, returning the same way.
Elevation and aspects:
7200'-10'000', all aspects.
Avalanche activity observed:
Limited to small rollers on isolated steep off aspects in rocky terrain.
Snow conditions:
Snow level is around 9000'. Below that elevation, patches linger in the shade.The upper elevation slopes receiving some sun have a mf crust of variable depth. North facing has started the rot out with cooler temperatures.
Defined cupped hoar was found growing in one spot around Desolation Lake.
The snow pack along the shady upper elevation PC ridge line closely resembles the profile taken from Owen's line in Dutches.
